My good childhood friend, Elizabeth Hines-Worthington, passed away in her sleep last night after years of battling medical issue after another.
She was blind, deaf, non-verbal, wheelchair-bound, and had a multitude of other conditions ranging from epileptic seizures to a condition that shortens her life expectancy. The doctors told her mother that Elizabeth would not live past infancy.

She was seventeen.

She proved the doctors wrong, all of them wrong. She didn't go down without a fight and when she went down, Lizzie went down in peace.

Elizabeth leaves behind a mother (Annette,) younger sister (Caroline,) a new older step-sister (Nichole,) a new step-father (Mark,) and her biological father (N/A.)

She will be added to my list of memorial tattoos I plan to have done. She has and always will be my symbol of strength and hope in times of darkness.
